Why I'm a Lotus Notes Zealot

Primary Reason

David Cutler, Cheif Architect of Windows NT, was once asked to give his thoughts on managing a large team of engineers. To this, he replied, "I manage people because it allows me to do the things I really love to do - create operating systems."

I am passionate about Lotus Notes because it allows me to do what I really love -- create great products. In my opinion, the key to creating great products is the ability to harness the collective mindshare of a company and their customers, partners and investors.

Defining Lotus Notes

Originally, Lotus Notes was positioned as "glue". I wonder why that never stuck? My definition of Notes goes likes this:

"Notes is a collaboration tool for Expanding the Delta between the Whole and the Sum of its Parts".

Of course, you might have to add some Chris Beck as well.
